Mikey is a South Jersey native who's been calling Philly home for the past ten years. Coming from a family of trade workers, Mikey always had a proclivity towards the arts and being creative. Beginning in high school, Mikey filled his day with art, theater, and fashion classes. Following his passion for the fashion industry, he attended Kent State University as a Fashion Design major; and later switched to Fashion Merchandising. When not working his day job, Mikey worked in musical theater as a performer and costume designer. This is where he found his first love in hair, and later started experimenting at home with coloring and cutting his own hair. After feeling dissatisfied with his fashion career, Mikey decided to leave it behind to pursue a career as a cosmetologist. 

Mikey attended Jean Madeline Aveda Institute in West Philadelphia, and immediately knew he had made the right choice. Soon after graduating in the fall of 2014, Mikey made his way into salons in Philadelphia. Working as an apprentice, he had found a love for cutting and color. As he continued his education through his apprenticeship, he was trained in Sassoon cutting and creative color techniques. Mikey soon decided to specialize in creative cutting, curly hair, blonding, and creative color. He vowed to be able to provide the hair services he could never find as a teenager. 

Mikey joined the Cult crew in 2017 and immediately knew he had found the perfect fit. Over the past six years, Mikey has continued his education and pushed his limits to keep growing as a stylist. Mikey has never wanted to be kept in a box with his skill set, and has been determined to master all things from wild to natural with cuts and color. Recently, he has become certified in extensions to broaden his services even farther to help his clientele reach their hair dreams. 

Outside of the salon, Mikey still immerses himself in the arts to constantly find inspiration from all forms of art. He has worked local fashion shows, attends concerts, musical theater performances, and loves to host dinners for his friends. He is a dog dad to a pitbull named Galileo, and he'll be more than willing to show you all the pictures of him. Mikey is also a lover of all kinds of drag, and has a vast knowledge of the art. His background in performance matches his boisterous personality and gift of gab. Mikey prides himself on being able to connect with people from all walks of life by always finding some common ground. Mikey's favorite band is Judas Priest, but also has a love for all genres of music. He has a love for astrology, tarot, and all things creepy. All in all, there are few topics of conversation he won't be able to contribute to.
